YOGA:  GETTING STARTED

Information for New Students

How to Choose a Class - Choose a time that is convenient for you and make exercise a regular part of your life. Each class/instructor has its own "personality". If a class does not suit you, please try another. Most classes are ongoing and we accept new students anytime.

What to Wear - Wear comfortable clothing, it's important to be free to move. Remove shoes and quiet phones in the studio. There are changing rooms in the yoga center and a women's locker room on the lower level. ANiU carries clothing from Yoga Tribe & Culture and be present.

What to Bring - Bring your own yoga mat to class or use ours. We provide mats and hand towels at no extra charge. Yoga mats are available for purchase.

Where to Go - 2275 Deming Way, Middleton (826-9656). Lobby elevator to lower level for Yoga Center. Parking in front or rear of building.

How You Can Expect to Feel

  • It's normal to feel apprehensive and nervous if this is your first "body-mind" class. Understand that our classes are a journey, not a destination. Your goal is to sit back and start the journey to physical and emotional well-being. We welcome students of all ages and fitness/experience levels.
  • You will feel more aware of your body than ever before because of the newness of the experience and the nature of the workout. You may experience muscle soreness after class as your body is trying to adapt to a new experience.
  • If you have a pre-existing condition please consult your instructor. We can help you modify with an alternate exercise.
